The Challenge
In October 2026, our team will paddle 100 kilometres overnight along the Hawkesbury River — from Windsor to Mooney Mooney — in the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic.
No sleeping. No stopping. Just paddling through the night until it's done.
The Race
The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic (HCC) is Australia's most demanding overnight paddle race — and one of the toughest human-powered endurance events in the world. To put that in perspective:
| Race | Location | Distance | Format | km/day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hawkesbury Canoe Classic | NSW, Australia | 100 km | Overnight, Iron | 100 |
| Molokaʻi Hoe | Hawaii | 66 km | 1 day, change-out | 66 |
| Catalina Crossing | California | 51 km | 1 day, change-out | 51 |
| Hamilton Island Cup | Queensland | 42 km | 1 day, Iron | 42 |
| Hawaiki Nui Va'a | French Polynesia | 124 km | 3 days | 41.3 |
What makes the HCC unique is that it's 100km in a single overnight push — no crew substitutions, no rest stops. Paddlers who complete it do so on whatever is left in the tank after midnight.
